Connection downgrades to 100mbit over LAN instead of 1gbit

Badge

Hey,

I can’t recall when this has started (definitely worked fine with old UI), but now I can only get 100mbit connection from the router to the PC. Initially it connects over 1gbit, but downgrades to a 100 in about a minute if it is in use. Quite annoying if I want to download a new game from steam :)

I’ve bough a new cable but that did not help, I’ve also tested both of the cables by connecting this PC with a laptop (Windows 10), and I could get the 1gbit connection - it also kept stable while moving large files.

I’ve tried all 4 ports, it only attempts to use 1gbit after router is restarted on any port. It used to work normally since I switched to 1gbit over coax and got this newer router. Speed with outside is great, phone reports ~370Mbps over 5gz wifi and used to be 1gbit over LAN aka Steam was downloading at 100MB/s+.

Any other suggestions?

It appears to be a common issue with the new nuuday firmware. Yousee have no answers. They may try to give you a new modem. It may just happen again with the new one. Good luck. 🙂

I have sent you a private mesaage so we can look in to the problems you are having.

Same issue here. 1gBs payed, it maxes out 100Mbits/s.Flat.

@Kevin feel free to close the issue you have opened for me. I can finally enjoy full network speed on my PC.

Out of curiosity I have taken the router out of it’s usual spot to a more open area and rebooted, to my surprise 1gbit signal stayed stable!

Anyway now I’ve rearranged the cables to make the setup roomba proof and invisible - everything is still good:

Yousee speed test shows 880Mbps download at the time of writing :)

EDIT: …. and it’s back to 100, maybe this could be throttling if it’s a little warmer

EDIT 2: Works fine when router is vertical and not under the cushion :|

Hi @FDIM

As this is a known problem, I would have suggested that we leave the case open - I can see that’ve you closed the issue yourself.

I’ll inform the responsible department of your observations in regards to heat/temperature (as you mention in your email) and the placement of the modem.

Have a nice day.

I have the same problem. Gaming PC connected with a LAN cable and getting 38ms ping, 87Mbps down and 95Mbps up on speedtest.net to TDC Group server… 😭

This is on a 1000/500 coax and my speedtest used to be 6ms ping, 955 down and 563 up to the same server… 😤

Sagemcom3890V2.

Just starting having this issue, is it close to being resolved a month later?

Nothing new for me 😥

After a router reboot I get 1000Mbps for a couple of minutes, then the LAN connection downgrades to 100Mbps… 🙄

Is the device warm when it drops to 100?

does it go back to 1000 when cooled down?

There have not been any reports to suggest that.

At least for me, it downgrades to 100 when it gets too warm. Only restart helps, provided that router cooled down in some way.

So I see it has been a month so temperature being a factor with this new firmware, how long does it take to fix a firmware produced internally?

This is a know issue unfortunately and we are working to solve this lower LAN-speeds at 100 Mbps. But no timeframe to give at this point.

The timeline is as follows: Yousee began pushing the new firmware spring last year. People have reported the issue ever since. When is a good question.

This is a know issue unfortunately and we are working to solve this lower LAN-speeds at 100 Mbps. But no timeframe to give at this point.

So is there a reason why you kept pushing out a Firmware update that you clearly knew had a major issue, reducing the quality of your service for your customers? From my understanding it’s been about quite a few months since you started getting reports about this and you still don’t have a timeframe.

Spring last year? Oh dear.

Can anyone confirm Fastspeed use Sagems original firmware?

No time frame for something going on for a year is dreadful.

I was not using my connection at all during last night.

Any updates? Been 12 days since the last one and still only getting 10% of what we pay for.

Hej @Maria Amager

Work is now in progress on a new firmware which correct this, but we can’t give you a specific date or more specific timeframe just yet, sorry.

Hi YouSee team and @Kasper

I’ve been dealing with this issue for +2 months now, and I’m really frustrated, as I initially thought this was an issue with my own router setup.

I experience the exact same thing as everyone else. I can reboot my modem and receive speed tests upwards 900Mbit/s, but after a few minuttes it throttles back to FastEthernet speeds instead of Gigabit speeds.

I had a support tickets with my router manufacturer Ubiquiti for weeks, and I even bought a new TP-Link Deco X75 system for 2500,- DKK, fresh cables and everything… but I’m still experiencing 100Mbit speeds.

The router software even notifies me that something is wrong with the ethernet port negotiation. Please find attached screenshots

Please let me know how to proceed, and when a fix can be expected?

I have the spaceship Sagemcom 3890V2 model and my firmware is FAST3890V3_NUUDAY-SIP-RDK_77.15.14

Best regards

Rasmus
